The Trolley Eats Virtual Food Hall concept was developed in order to meet the changing needs of customers and business during the pandemic. The restaurant would be entirely online, giving customers more variety and options from one source when ordering for families or large groups.
When ordering through any of the main delivery apps or services, you couldn’t select delivery from more than one restaurant. If wanting to feed a large family and please everyone, that could mean multiple orders and delivery fees. Trolley Eats provided a solution by offering multiple restaurant menus to include on one order. Click the link to view the full case study.
Timeframe. The pandemic impacted the food and beverage industry dramatically. Restaurants were closing and revenue was being lost daily. This website needed to come together quickly in order to start generating revenue to make up for what the other businesses were currently losing.
Concept. This was a new concept to work with that had several moving parts. In my research I found few examples online that presented a similar food hall concept. Taking the idea of a restaurant website and quickly turning it into a multi-restaurant website, at first, seemed like a steep hill to climb.
Designs as extensive as this generally don’t come together quickly, however, It took approximately 1 month for me to visually design the site, successfully meeting the scheduled launch date.
